What type of gloves to purchase when reading vintage/fragile papers?

I need to buy a pair of gloves to read printed media (IE: fragile books, vintage newspapers/comics, and the like), but so far I know that cotton is out of the question because it actually absorbs the ink.

I just heard something the other day about papers being more severely damaged when gloves are used. My recommendation would be to do a little asking around at major archives on line -- Maybe major university libraries, the Library of Congress??

Sorry to throw a wrench in the works, but I was pretty surprised when I heard that. When I ran a historic house museum we had cotton gloves, but we were handling artifacts more often than papers.
