How could I incorporate a large wall mirror in decorating a massage room?
My daughter is decorating a room at a local spa to work as a Massage Therapist. In the room there is a large wall mirror that can't be taken down. How can we incorporate the mirror into our decorating. The wall color is a lavender. It has a curtain rode over the mirror that we had planned to drap a cloth over but we don't know what to do with the mirror.
I'd try again to get rid of it - any mirror in a massage room should be small, face-level, and not in line with the table (i.e. for the client who wants to check their hair or face after a massage). As a therapist, I don't want to be distracted by a mirror, I don't want my clients looking in the mirror during a massage, and I don't want them worrying about me looking at them in the mirror, if you follow me.
So if you really can't pry it off the wall, option 2 is cover it completely. Rather than just hanging a curtain, I'd consider tacking something more secure over it. Perhaps simply an inexpensive but attractive piece of fabric. Indulge your creativity. Maybe some poker -playing dogs in black velvet (OK, I'm kidding).
Such a covering will also help acoustically - by sucking up some of the sound in the room.
