How early should I arrive before my train leaves at the 30th street station in Philadelphia to make my train? ?

I know its very busy.

First, what kind of train? Amtrak? How are you getting to the station? If it's by car, you need to leave time to park. The lot under the station fills up quickly. You can park in one of the outdoor lots, but leave time to find a space and walk back to the station.

You should be in the station about half an hour before the train. Are you getting a ticket through a kiosk? Leave time for that.

If it's a popular time, like at Thanksgiving, people will stand in line to get to the platform, get on the train and get a decent seat. If that's the case, it couldn't hurt to get there 45 minutes in advance.

If your getting on a SEPTA regional rail, 15 minutes ahead is plenty.
