Many sellers are selling reproductions of the original, and although the can represent art in a great way, the value is simply not the same and shouldn’t be considered the same either. If you thoroughly inspect a piece, one way on how to know if art is original is that if you can find a copyright symbol, or copyright information printed anywhere on the piece, then you will generally know that the art is a 
reproduction. Originals are done by hand therefore, when you see something printed, you will know it wasn’t made by the original artist.
Most reproductions are done on fiberboard, cardboard, or paper, and generally not canvas. This material will be lightweight and thin, making them lesser in quality. Occasionally, you will find reproductions on canvas. If you just so happen to see a piece of art on canvas, do not assume that it is original. If you hold up the piece of art to the light and look at it and see the image on the other side is all even, this will generally tell you that it is not the original, but rather printed by some computer.
