My Yorkshire Terrier is losing hair under his neck.?
I gave my 2 year old Yorkshire Terrier a bath and then I sprayed him with dog spray(Spaw Essentials Aromatherapy Soothing Lavender). A few minutes later he started acting funny and then kept licking the upper part of his chest, lower part of neck. I got up this morning and noticed that he has a patch of hair missing from that area. Does anyone know if he could be allergic to the spray or if it's something more serious?
I have 2 Yorke's, 12 and 11 and they do have sensitive skin and are prone to skin allergies.You might want to get rid of all the perfumey products and just use a shampoo (buy it from the vet, it's expensive but lasts forever for little ones) just for dogs,. There is a large difference in the Phbalance of people shampoo and products and strictly dog products. You might want to call your vet and ask about an ointment and ask about giving your pet children's Benadryl. Our vet told us we could give them a tiny, Ithink 1/8 spoon for the itching. Please don't do that without asking your vet ....I only know about my dogs not yours and I don't want to give you bad advice.
