When freeskiing, meaning going off ramps and such, do i need shorter poles or is it recommended to be shorter?
I have one's that are the right size for piste skiing, ones that make a 90 degree angle on my arms. But i'm thinking about hitting the park a little more often and lets just say i don't want to figure out the hard way if my poles will impale me.

sounds like you know your poles and I agree, it seems park riders are using shorter poles. I use shorter poles as above, because of mogul skiing. a lot , A LOT of park riders can't really ski at all but are super skilled at rails and hits. they really don't use poles and notice how they seem to monkey drag their hands while setting up for a feature? I can't imagine how a few cm will mater if the park isn't your main venue. give it a go and see how it feels.
