Is it legal to print a band's picture/name on a t-shirt if you are not planning on selling it for money?
I am wanting to give a friend a Fall Out Boy t-shirt, but neither Hot Topic or the FBR store have exactly what I'm looking for. I'm a graphic designer, so I thought maybe I could design what I want on the shirt and have a friend print it off. The shirt will be a gift; I'm not going to sell it to anyone.
I'm just wondering if this is legal, since I'll be making no profit.
If the image or logo you are using is copyrighted then it is illegal to use it without permission. But if it a photo you took or a logo you designed then it should be fine.
