How can you deal with vindictive people in the workplace without getting fired?

Why are there always those people in the workplace that always try to find ways to twist situations, bitch about what you do or how you do it, or just down right make you feel worthless? What satisfaction is there is this type of behavior? Someone please tell me how I can deal with these types of people without getting fired?

Oh and these are people that are in higher positions and their managers are blind to it, even after numerous complaints.

My suggestion to you would be, be as sweet as can be. Don't let them affect what you do or how you act. As humans we don't have control over what others do, we only have control over our own actions. So don't get all absorbed by their negativity. The mind is a powerful thing, so don't get sucked into that craziness, because it will lead to no good. Sometimes, I know and understand that it's a little hard not to angry with those type of people, but you have to try, be nice to them, not to suck up, but just to show your bigger person than they are. Eventually what goes around comes around, so have faith in that & just send out positive vibes & trust me you'll be fine. don't let anybody bring you down ! good luck to you =)
