Digital art has become so popular in the world today that most people don’t even realize when they are actually looking at digital art.  Special effects, computer generated pictures, cartoon characters, and much more are all forms of digital art and have been around from the beginning of the 1970’s, but over time really advanced like none other.

This precise form of art has created millions of jobs all over the world from big time graphics designers of big name companies, all the way down to fun activities such as young children creating holiday pictures on the computer, the opportunity is endless, and better yet, fun as well.

Before the 1970’s, many people would handwrite letters or use a typewriter but whenever a mistake was made, the whole paper was considered trash, but as technological advances surfaced and the invention of digital art, many things can be created from a PC and with the slightest mistake, there is an easy “back” button or “erase” button that we can use to make things considerable easier.  If you think back about all of the things that have changed in just a short period of time, you will understand that digital art has really improved the quality of life in many, many ways.

Artists tend to have the sky in most landscape art paintings because of the natural aspect that it brings to the painting, as well as the conditions thereof.  With the sky and the conditions incorporated into the painting, you very well may see a snow covered mountain with the sun shining down from above creating a reflection off of the lakes and streams in the valley, or possibly a dreary day in the middle of the forests with birds bathing in the rainfall under the clouds of the sky.  The point is, these various types of art can change from artist to artist, though each artist would tend to paint one or two of their favorite styles of landscape art.

The word landscape was originally from the Dutch word, landschap, and was referred to as a piece of cultivated ground.  The term was then transformed into many aspects of the wilderness and now represents all of the nature thoughts of any artist looking to create that perfect natural feel in landscape art, and is highly sought after, due to the extreme versatility, by many of the most famous art collectors in the world today.

Canvas art really broke out in Italy during the Renaissance era.  It is believed by many historians that the use of canvas while painting started out by the people in Venice using it to prepare banners and such, making Italians the first to “invent” the canvas art.  They would originally paint on wood surfaces that were heavy and could tend to soak in the paint a lot which caused them to lose a lot of the paint and when the discovered canvas, it was much more efficient in their productions, shipping, and their storage, not to mention it would last longer as well where wood would tend to rot over time.

Canvas art was really popular in Italy for a long time before other countries caught on as they would still tend to lean towards wood surfaces in their paintings and preferred wood as well.  That was until they would come to Italy to study arts and see firsthand the benefits of painting with canvas and once that would happen, the popularity of canvas increased very rapidly in many Northern European countries thereafter.

Many people still study canvas art and really show off their contemporary styles as well as modern styles of canvas art at many of the art exhibits all over the world.  Canvas art can represent many different styles from self portraits, nature, and fiction, depending on the artist and particular movement of the time.  If you study this highly popular style of art, you will force your mind to understand it in many different ways, and ultimately end up with the mindset that the artist wanted after all.

Towards the end of the 19^th century, most artists were interested in a new type of art, which was similar to the advances in technology that many know of today and seemed to move on from creating abstract art.  They are, however, becoming more popular among art collectors in today’s society, and many are still shown at many art exhibits all over the world.  Many collectors buy, sell, and trade these as they can hold a large value, depending on quality, condition, date produced, and the artist that created it as well.  These all hold qualities that add to the value of the abstract art.

If you are looking for an abstract art piece, exhibits and auctions will most likely be the best place to look to acquire one as they are very rare and becoming even more rare as the years go by.  Those that hold on to them and let them become even more antique, or aged, will only add to the value thereof.  You may, however, be able to get a hold of one if you have something to barter with, or trade with if you can find an artist that is in need of the art that you have.  This trading has become more and more popular among collectors as their interests and collections shift to one particular style, and you very well may lick out and be able to acquire one of these abstract art pieces.

There are many different types of oils that were used in the oil paintings during modern times such as linseed oil, in early modern Europe, safflower oil, poppy seed oil, and walnut oil.  The pigment was added to the oil and then boiled with a drying resin such as frankincense.  These were considered to be varnishes and were extremely popular due to their high gloss and the body of the paint.

One reason that these oils were so popular in artistic paintings were due to the fact that the oil paint would have much less yellowing and also many different drying times, depending on the type of oil used and the amount of drying resin added when boiled.  There were many differences that were very apparent in oil paintings, depending on the specific oil used such as the effects that the paint would depict in painting.

Oil paint first broke out sometime between the 5^th and 9^th century, but didn’t become very popular and more widespread until the 15^th century when a lot of artists started using oil painting art in their different movements and personal venture.  Oil painting arts are still used today be some of the advanced skilled artists that are trying to pull that modern Europe feel in their art.  In addition, original oil painting arts are very popular among collectors all over the world and can bring in a great value to any collection that you may see, have, or want to start.

The Baroque style of art was much more religious, in paintings and such, than that of the Rococo style art and artists.  They both, however, did reflect all of the current (at the time) changes that the people were living with.  It is also said that both of these styles were also known for the use of more color than the traditional arts that they had known prior to these two styles of arts.  Although the Baroque style was much more of a religious style of art, it was still believed by many to depict much more violence than that of the Rococo style arts, although the Rococo style arts did depict some violence as well, simply just much less.  It was the same with religion as well as there was some with the Rococo style, but very little.

As time went on, with more and more changes occurring in the world, a lot of people stopped believing in God and with that, the artists of Baroque and Rococo Art began to incorporate religion less and less in their different forms of art.  With the Rococo Art already implementing very little to begin with, religion nearly did not exist after this occurrence.  After all, the style did fade away as a new art movement moved in to take over, although the Baroque and Rococo Art still has made a place for itself in the history books.

Some of the most popular Picasso Art pieces are those that were produced by the artist himself, and named Les Demoiselles d’Avignon, which was produced in 1907, and the Guernica, which was produced in 1937.  These were both to portray the German bombing of Guernica, which was during the Spanish Civil War.  Both of these pieces of Picasso Art were a part of Pablo Picasso’s proto-Cubist movement.

Picasso started painting in his early childhood, and many people took notice of his talents, even at an early stage, however, many didn’t think that he would help change the way the world looked at art and artists simply through his work.  In the first part of the 20^th century, Picasso changed his style many times, and never stayed consistent in which type of art he would specialize in, though was very consistent in the fact that all of his techniques and ideas would be of the upmost quality, representing all of the different cultures in his life at the time.  This is one reason that Picasso Art remains some of the most popular styles of art in the world today.

Modern art was that of the impressionists that stopped around the 1960’s or 1970’s, which is when the contemporary artwork took over and is still being produced as of late.  One of the reasons that contemporary artwork took over around the 1970’s is because that is when the term “postmodernism” came about.

In is estimated that most people living in this era will never have to worry about a shift in artwork tendencies in this lifetime because it is expected to not change for at least another decade.  Some of the young children born in the future may observe the change into a new art era, but as already specified, it is estimated to come in over 100 years from now.

Many artists of today tend to produce art that mimics different eras such as modern art or Renaissance art, but the majority of artists all tend to stick with contemporary art, or at least throw a little contemporary twist into their painting.  This particular type of artwork has begun to take over the thoughts of other types of art, and rightfully so seeing how it is the art of our time, but the artists of this era want nothing more than to enlighten others on all of the different types of art that eventually led to the beginning of contemporary art.  Arts in schools are mainly implemented around the contemporary styles and leading to the beginning to teachings of all the other types of art in history.

At the beginning of the 20^th century, the 2D images came about which, at the time, was the most realistic pictures that could be drawn or painted by a human artist.  These 2D images were first seen produced by one of the greatest artists of all time, Pablo Picasso, who seemed to change the way the world looked at art and artists.

Russia had groups of artists, at the same time, producing their own modern art, or art of the 20^th century, which were Supermatism.  One Russian artist, Kasimir Malevich, was known highly for his notable black canvas, but also had others that were much less representational work.  Mikhail Larionov, who was a part of the Jack of Diamonds, was a artist of the 20^th century, and highly known for his expressions of nature in his new found artistic ventures.  These expressions, such as of nature, just were not commonly produced, with portraits being more common, made many people wonder about his sanity, yet adore his creative mind in art of the 20^th century.

Art of the 20^th century is still being produced today by many more modern artists that are staying with the traditional style, yet with the modern twist.  Modern art has grown increasingly popular among consumers and many are willing to pay a hefty price tag, depending on the artist, style, and their own personal preference, making this art of the 20^th century just as popular today, if not more, than it was during the first years of production.

With the newly invent style of framed art, many artists and others still didn’t buy into the whole idea and continued to create and view pieces of art that remained on their wood surfaces, or whatever they had used, and were view in that way, as well as sold in that way.  Still today, many pieces of art remained unframed, however, over time; most of the world began to enjoy the idea of having a artistic frame to art which added to a whole new aspect of the art piece at hand.  This opened up to many new artists beginning to create special frames rather than solely painting, where they could expand their business, and have their personal style within the frame as well as the painting or portrait.

Buying framed art can add a lot of value to a specific picture by and upwards of a couple of hundred dollars to a couple thousand dollars, depending on the detail and quality of material that the frame is made of.  With this in mind, many artists or collectors are adding frames to their artwork in order to raise the value somewhat, and tend to “draw” people to the actual piece of art, and creating more viewers, historians, and customers.
