Abstract art was extremely popular up until the middle of the 19th century, when the popularity was taken over by another type of art, modern art, though abstracts are still produced to some degree as of late. Abstract art tends to use visuals such as color, line, and form in order to produce an image that can be considered abstract.

Before framed art came about, paintings and pictures would only be view of the surface that it was prepared on such as wood and canvas, but right before the Renaissance era, the first true picture frame was created. Frames had been around before then, but just never for pictures and many people didn’t really know how to take this new found feature.
