The star-studded night at Chevrolet Apsara Awards 2011 powered by Micromax Mobile and telecom partner Aircel, brought the biggest stars of the Indian Entertainment industry under one roof. This eventful night saw the kings and queens of the Indian Film Industry along with Television sirens and charmers walk the red carpet in their most glamorous avatar. Small budget movies like Peepli Live won the award for Best Story (Anusha Rizvi), Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge? won the award for Best Performance in a Comic Role (Paresh Rawal) and Love Sex Aur Dhokha won the award for Best Sound Recording (Pritam Das).

Best Non Fiction Series in the television category was won by Entertainment ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega and for Best Drama Series Fiction was won by Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya. Silver screen favourites Dilip Joshi (Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah won the award for Best Actor in Drama Series) and Ankita Lokhande (Pavitra Rishta) won the award for Best Actress in Drama Series. The Reason Birds Can Fly

No doubt many bird lovers will be surprised to find out that many birds in the wild prefer to be on the ground, rather than the sky. And, in regions of the world where they are not threatened by predators, they actually spend most of their time on the ground.

As a matter of fact, if you go to places around the globe where birds have had no serious predators for centuries, you will very often find that some of the birds have evolved to where they either have no wings or they have wings that are almost useless in flight. This is because they no longer need the ability to fly to escape danger.

Because of this, they feel extremely at ease simply remaining on on the ground. After all, this is where they find most of their food. A perfect example of this is the well known ostrich which, over the years, has lost the ability to fly.

Today, among experts, it is widely accepted that dinosaurs are the ancestors of today's birds. Originally, smaller sized dinosaurs lived on the ground. Here they were at a disadvantage as they were forced to compete for food and survival over their larger cousins. Most of these smaller dinosaurs could not compete effectively and died out.

But others did survive. They evolved. Over the centuries they evolved wings. And with the wings came both the ability to effectively escape larger predators and to find easier sources of food where their larger brethren could not go. The acquisition of flight is what enabled many of these smaller dinosaurs to survive.

Over the centuries, birds have evolved certain evolutionary traits that allowed them to fly whereas mammals did not evolve these traits. One of them is that birds are almost always lighter in weight than comparatively sized mammals. If you were to compare just about any bird to a similarly sized earthbound mammal, you will discover that it probably weighs from two to four times less than the mammal. This is primarily due to its skeletal system which usually consists of hollow bones. The hollow bones are supported by internal struts which make them amazingly powerful.

Not only that, but a very large part of an average bird's body consists of air. Birds possess air sacs all through their bodies which, in addition to being great weight saving devices, allow them to utilize oxygen many times more efficiently than most mammals can.

Although, through the centuries, birds have evolved with many other weight saving features, for the most part, it is this lightness of weight that enables them to easily launch themselves into the air and stay aloft.

And, lastly, we come to the winds. Wings that have improved through evolution to be the perfect constructs that enable then to easily glide through the air with little or no turbulence.

Tips for Your Pet Birds First Month Home

For any new pet moving to a new home can be a very traumatic experience and in some cases even more so for a pet bird. Many times if bird was hand fed as a baby it may have stronger attachments then other birds. However if you take the time setting up your birds new environment properly with some extra care, it will a bit easier for your pet bird to make the adjustment to it's new home.

One of the most important things you should first do when you bring your new bird home is to place its cage in an area that does not have an over abundance of activity or confusion. Even though we are trying to make sure our new friend doesn't feel like he is caught up in the middle of all the household action. We also want to make sure that he does not feel all alone by putting him in some unused room by him self. Ideally you want to find a spot in your home where he can still interact with you, but there won't be constant loud noises or lots of sudden movements that can continually startle him.

In situations where you already have another bird in your home, it would be best to segregate your new arrival for about thirty days. The reason you want to do this is to help ensure that if your new bird has an infectious disease, you won't infect your original bird. When creating a quarantine for your bird, it would be best to keep him on floor in a completely different room of the house. Also make sure to keep their food and water dishes apart and do not interchange them even after washing. If your home has a central air conditioning system, you may have difficulty being able to ensure a true quarantine. Since these kinds of air conditioning system employ air duct systems which carry the air from one room to other rooms in the house. Regardless it is still a good idea to quarantine the new bird than immediately putting exposing him to your original pet even if you have air ducts.

You should also make sure that any new bird you bring home is in good health. So be sure to take him to your local avian veterinarian for a general check up. Your veterinarian will be able to check and make sure that your new pet bird is free of any contagious diseases, worms or bacterial infections. This is even more important in cases were you have a hand fed baby bird, the reason being is that if the bird wasn't properly hand fed it is at a higher risk for having a bacterial infection.

When ever you bring a new bird home you should closely monitor their eating habits during their initial adjustment period. If you notice that your bird doesn't seem to be eating at all during the initial twenty four hours, you should try and offer him some spray millet. Spray millet is pretty much a dessert for birds. Another option is to offer him a whole grain cereal which may coax a frightened bird into eating. If you just brought home a newly weaned baby bird and he is not eating and is also making various squalling noises, your new bird may have regressed some and will need to be hand fed slightly longer. In these situations call your breeder for assistance.

If for some reason you cannot get in contact with your breeder, odds are you can buy some hand feeding formula from your local pet shop. To use the formula simply mix up a tiny quantity of the hand feeding formula until it reaches a consistency close to that of pudding. Then offer some of the mixture to your bird by putting some of the formula on a plastic spoon. If all is well he should eat it right off the spoon.

Lastly, you should not be afraid to interact with your new pet bird, just make sure you don't get out of hand and overdo it. At first you should only try to work with him for 10 minutes at a time and no more. If he continually flies away and you notice your self having to chase and catch him, Just put him away back in his cage for a bit until he starts to calm down. Every time you chase and catch your bird it cause him some stress, which is something we are trying to minimize for our new friend.

If you had asked me 10 years ago, to name the top business gurus in the UK I would have struggled. Ask anyone today and they will no doubt name members of the dragons den or the apprentice which has brought mainstream business celebrities into households via terrestrial and cable TV.

As popular as the dragons den panel members are, they should not be confused with any of the top business gurus, because they are actually business entrepreneurs, and not business gurus.

Before I begin to explain my concept of Business Guru Growth Strategies I feel it worthwhile outlining the definition of a business guru.

Dictionaries generally agree that a guru is someone who others regard as having advanced knowledge and wisdom about a specific area or subject matter. Attaining advanced knowledge often requires many years of training and practice before becoming accepted as a teacher and then as an authority in your specialised field. The power of knowing how to transfer this knowledge into helping others is a gift. When one considers the subject matter of this article, i.e. how the International business guru Dr. Mark D. Yates outlines business guru growth strategies, we need to look how passing on years of experience and business knowledge accumulated over 30 plus years of working in 42 different countries. The brand guru begins by working with the business owner to identify a memorable business brand which will easily convert to sales once the advertising guru produces a targeted marketing plan and business branding and marketing campaign.

Of course building a business brand is the first step to take after you've identified what your brand needs to achieve. This should then be followed up by creating an awareness of your business branding, which can be achieved off-line or online to reduce your marketing and promotional costs. Once there is a market awareness of your business brand then you will need a dynamic, sales guru to proactively close the deals that filter through.

That's right in no time at all the business world has gone from zero to hero with a forthcoming listing of the top 200 business gurus

Your awareness of gurus should not be swayed after watching the recent Hollywood film DVD release titled The Love Guru. This was clearly a Micky take on what we call guru guru as the lead character was obviously bluffing his way through as a love sex guru. Nor should you pay any attention to the soundtrack which featured guru lyrics.

Whatever your opinions are of business gurus, it looks like business gurus are here to stay.

Zhang Dali was born on 1963 and Born in Harbin, China. Zhang Dali has portrayed 100 immigrant workers in life-size resin sculptures of various postures, with a designated number, the artist’s signature and the work’s title “Chinese Offspring” tattooed onto each of their bodies. They are often hung upside down, indicating the uncertainty of their life and their powerlessness in changing their own fates.

The scrawled profiles of a human head are the work of 18K (aka AK47) - the artist formerly known as Zhang Dali. You wouldn’t notice them in a Western city because the simple drawings would be quickly sprayed over with graffiti done by thousands of other lay abouts, vandals, artists and political groups.18K was born in Heilongjiang 36 years ago and came to Beijing after middle school to attend the prestigious Central Academy of Art and Design. He majored in traditional Chinese ink-and-brush painting but soon began producing abstract works and experimenting with different materials. In the late 1980s, 18K was the first artist to move to the village near Yuanmingyuan that later became a thriving colony of artists and bohemians until it was closed by Beijing authorities in the early 1990s. In 1988, 18K was one of several artists featured in independent filmmaker Wu Wenguang’s Bumming in Beijing (Liulang Beijin)

In fact, many of 18K’s tags are intentionally placed right next to "chai" characters. Not only is graffiti painted onto walls that will soon be rubble unlikely to stir the police into action, 18K also has artistic reasons for associating his heads with condemned structures: the work is an attempt to engage in a dialogue with Beijing, a city where buildings come down faster than they did in wartime Berlin and London. Like many young people involved in the arts, 18K left Beijing in 1989. He went to Italy where he spent six years living in different cities and working as an artist. On his return to Beijing in 1993 he conceived of his long running graffiti project which he entitles Dialogue because the intention is that the graffiti along with photographs and articles that document and criticize it will together comprise a dialogue about the changing face of Beijing

whats the significance of red and blue lights on police vehicles, & red ones for Fire/EMT?

I'm curious to know why those colors (red/blue) are the colors used for ALL emergency response vehicles. I'm thinking that RED is the primary color used, and blue is used to distinguish between police and fire, but why? I know that some also used yellow; yellow being associated with hazards. Red means DANGER, but why blue/combination of RED and BLUE?

In the US back in the 1950's and before police and fire had red lights on their vehicles. In fact it is still the law in California that a police car must display at least one steady, not flashing, red light.
Blue lights were reserved for such people as volunteer fire fighters to use on their personnel vehicles..

You may notice that many fire trucks also have some green lights on them. They don't flash but are there because green and blue can be seen better in smokey and foggy conditions.
Police all over had blue or green lanterns in front of their stations so that they could be seen better in the dark. When green was adopted as the "go" signal police started to use the blue light more and more. Blue became the symbol of city police as in the "boys in blue" or the "thin blue line".
In the 1960's it was noted by a number of criminologists that letting people think there were a lot of cops around was better then really having a lot of cops on the street.
In an effort to make cops more visible they ended a lot of foot beats and put officers n cars that where easy to see. many also changed the siren so it would sound special. Placing blue lights on top of the cars was part of this strategy. Blue would now mean "cop".

If you look most cop cars have a combination of blue and white.
In the sun light it is easier to get attention with a bright white light then a blue light. That is why you see white strobes on tp of many school buses.

it is a nice poem, surely. but i do not think that the respect of fragile life is the theme, but more the beauty of life, even in death. the starfish are no longer alive, but are still beautiful. that is the view i take from it. however, poems are meant to be interpreted by the reader, and every reader is different.

How would you motivate someone without using money?

Someone once said that all great movies are either about death or sex. Motivating someone through fear of death is immoral. Motivation people by awarding them with sex is, of course, difficult, because both parties have to be willing.

Money is a motivator, but generally not the biggest motivator. It is only temporary. If you give someone a raise, within weeks that has become the norm. The biggest motivator is RECOGNITION...thats what all of your examples have in common. Good people managers know how to use recognition wisely. You know how you go to a store and the clerks are rude or ineffective? This is not a labor problem...thats what most people say...no one wants to work these days. This is a management problem. No matter what pay you make or what level you work at, every job is boring. You have to use recognition to show people that they are special and that they are appreciated. This is the way you motivate people to do more and accomplish more. This recognition makes them feel good about themselves and makes them want to accomplish more.

In my project, it says three page lenght, double space, single space bullet points. How would I write ?

I understand the double space however how would i write the bullet points then?

Just do the paper in double space and the sentences or words you want bullets by, go back and highlight them and click the bullets button on your toolbar and then go to paragraph with all of your bulleted items highlighted and click on single space. This will single space only the bulleted items (which is what you want done) while the rest of the paper is double spaced. Click anywhere in the paper after you click single space under paragraph to see the changes you made in your bulleted list.
